# FLOWN review 2026: sessions, pricing and alternatives

FLOWN is a virtual coworking platform with focus sessions led by trained facilitators, a silent drop in room open 24/7, and wellbeing sessions like breathwork and planning. New members get a 30 day free trial with no card. After that you pay monthly, yearly or once for life, or drop to a limited free account.

That is the short verdict. In three lines:

* **Best at:** variety and guidance. There is a format for most moods, from a 20 minute morning routine to a 2 hour deep work block, and a facilitator runs the structured ones.
* **Main costs:** larger groups than some rivals, a camera that is recommended in every format, and a paid plan if you want more than the free tier.
* **Price:** a 30 day free trial, then €24 a month, €18 a month billed yearly, or €860 once for lifetime access, as shown to us in euros [1].

Roomie Cafe is a free focus timer you share with friends. We make it, so we are not neutral about this category. This review is based on FLOWN's own website, checked on October 24, 2026. We have not been paying members. Where FLOWN's pages disagree with each other or leave something out, we say so.

## What is FLOWN?

FLOWN describes itself as a virtual coworking platform for focus, structure and connection while you work [1]. Its FAQ says the schedule has more than 500 sessions a week, and that its drop in sessions run 24 hours a day, every day [2].

The core idea is body doubling: working in the presence of other people so it is easier to start and stay on task. FLOWN puts a facilitator in front of that idea for most of its sessions. If you are new to the concept, our guide to [what body doubling is](/blog/what-is-body-doubling) covers the basics.

## How FLOWN works

FLOWN's own summary is four steps: join a session, set your intentions, focus silently alongside others, and celebrate your progress at the end [3]. What that looks like depends on the format you pick.

### The session formats

FLOWN's Access to Work page lays out four main formats [4]:

| Format | Length | How often | What happens | Microphone | Camera |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Deep Dive | 2 hours | 5 a day | Goal setting in breakout rooms of 3 or 4, two 50 minute focus blocks, an optional guided break, then reflection | Required | Recommended |
| Power Hour | 1 hour | 2 a day | Goal setting in the chat, 55 minutes of silent focus, a moment of reflection | Not required | Recommended |
| Take Off | 20 minutes | 4 a day | Short meditation, journaling to a prompt, sharing your goals for the day with a small group | Required | Recommended |
| Drop In | All day | Always open | Join and leave any time, write your goal in the sidebar, work in silence | Turned off | Recommended |

Deep Dives and Power Hours are listed with 20 to 60 members [4]. That is a bigger room than Flow Club's cap of 9, with breakout rooms to make the check in feel smaller.

One detail to check when you join: the Access to Work page lists the facilitated formats as running on Zoom, while FLOWN's membership page describes its own built in video platform with a Pomodoro timer, chat, music and picture in picture mode [4, 5]. We could not tell from FLOWN's pages which applies to which session today.

### The facilitators

FLOWN's FAQ says its facilitators are handpicked and trained, with backgrounds in life coaching, mindfulness teaching, breathwork, ADHD coaching and counselling [2]. The membership page counts more than 20 of them [5]. They open the session, guide the goal setting and close it out.

### The 24/7 drop in room

If you just want company now, the drop in room is the simplest part of FLOWN. It is a silent coworking room with microphones off, open all day. You add your goal in the sidebar, set a timer, and work. FLOWN compares it to a virtual library [3, 4, 5].

### Everything else

A membership also includes, according to FLOWN [5]:

* **Peer to peer sessions.** Smaller, community run sessions on themes like job hunting or decluttering. You can host your own.
* **Private focus rooms.** Create a room and share the link with friends, family or colleagues. You can also follow friends to see when they are joining.
* **Recharge sessions.** Weekly time blocking, breathwork, journaling, meditation, drawing and movement.
* **Streaks, badges and challenges.** FLOWN uses gamification to reward consistency.
* **FLOWN Plus.** Paid extras such as one to one coaching, 6 week accountability groups and an ADHD course, with member discounts.

### Do you need a camera on FLOWN?

Recommended, not required. Each format on FLOWN's Access to Work page lists the camera as "recommended" [4]. FLOWN's guide to body doubling also says you do not need a camera to join a body doubling session, and suggests starting with it off if that feels safer [6]. The Deep Dive and Take Off formats do require a microphone, because you speak during the check in [4].

## How much does FLOWN cost?

| Plan | Price shown to us | What you get |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free trial | €0 for 30 days | Full access, no credit card required |
| Monthly | €24 a month | Full membership, billed monthly |
| Yearly | €18 a month | Full membership, billed annually |
| Lifetime | €860 once | Full membership, billed once |
| FLOWN Free | €0 | 4 community sessions a month, plus any sessions on Fridays |

Prices are from FLOWN's pricing page, checked on October 24, 2026 [1]. The page set the currency to euros for us on its own, so you may see prices in a different currency where you are. Plans are month to month or annual, and you can cancel any time and keep access to the end of the billing period [1].

Other price details from FLOWN's site:

* **Students get 50% off.** You email FLOWN from your student address, or send a photo of your student card [1, 2].
* **Employers can pay.** FLOWN offers team plans and says it has worked with employers to approve it as a benefit [1].
* **The free account is limited.** The pricing page describes FLOWN Free as 4 community sessions a month plus access to any session on Fridays [1]. The FAQ describes it more briefly as free every Friday [2].

### FLOWN and the UK Access to Work grant

Access to Work is a UK government scheme that can help you get or stay in work if you have a physical or mental health condition or disability. It can give you a grant toward practical support at work, and you do not have to pay it back [7].

FLOWN's FAQ says the Department for Work and Pensions covers FLOWN membership as an eligible expense under Access to Work [2]. Its page for individuals explains how to use the grant for a lifetime FLOWN membership and for specialist ADHD coaching [4]. FLOWN also runs a separate guide for Access to Work assessors [8].

If you are in the UK and the cost is what stops you, this is the most interesting thing about FLOWN. Whether your own application covers it is up to Access to Work, so treat FLOWN's guide as a starting point and check the government's page for eligibility.

## FLOWN pros

### A format for most days

A 20 minute Take Off when you need a start, a Power Hour when you just want to get going, a 2 hour Deep Dive for big work, and a drop in room when nothing is scheduled. Few services cover that range.

### Trained facilitators

Facilitators set the tone and keep the structure, and FLOWN chooses them for coaching and mindfulness backgrounds [2]. If you like someone running the room, this is a real strength.

### Company at any hour

The drop in room is open 24/7 [2]. You never have to wait for the next slot if you just want people around.

### A long, card free trial and a free tier

30 days with no card is generous, and FLOWN Free keeps a door open afterward [1].

### Stated goals help

Each format asks you to name what you will work on. A meta analysis of 94 independent tests found that plans spelling out what you will do and when had a medium to large effect on reaching goals (d = .65) [9]. FLOWN builds that step into every session.

### A route to funding in the UK

Few competitors point you to a government grant at all. For UK members who qualify, Access to Work may cover the membership [2, 4].

## FLOWN cons

### Bigger groups

20 to 60 people in a Deep Dive or Power Hour is a crowd [4]. Breakout rooms help, but you are less noticed than in a small group or a one to one session.

### The camera is still the norm

Recommended in every format [4]. If being on video tires you, that is worth taking seriously. In a four week field experiment with 103 employees and 1,408 daily observations, people felt more tired on days they kept their camera on in meetings [10]. Our guide to [body doubling without a camera](/blog/body-doubling-without-a-camera) covers other options.

### A lot to choose from

Deep Dives, Power Hours, Take Offs, the drop in room, peer to peer sessions, Recharge, breathwork, FLOWN Plus. The range is a strength once you know it, but it can be a lot on day one, especially if choosing is the thing you struggle with.

### Some pages disagree

The Zoom versus built in video question and the two descriptions of the free tier are small, but they make it harder to know exactly what you get before you sign up [1, 2, 4, 5].

### Streaks are part of the design

FLOWN rewards consistency with streaks and badges [5]. Some people love that. Others find a broken streak a reason to stop altogether.

## Who FLOWN is the better choice for

FLOWN fits you well if:

* You want a facilitator to run the session and set the tone.
* You like variety: short routines, long deep work blocks, breathwork, planning.
* You want somewhere to go at any hour, as well as at booked times.
* You live in the UK and Access to Work might cover the cost.
* You are fine on camera, or happy to sit with it off in a big room.

## Who would prefer something else

You might want a different tool if:

* **You want a small group or one partner.** Flow Club caps sessions at 9, and Focusmate pairs you with one person. Our [Focusmate alternatives](/blog/focusmate-alternatives) piece compares the formats.
* **You want to stay off camera entirely.** Even with yours off, you are in a video room.
* **You want company from your own friends.** FLOWN has private rooms, but the platform is built around sessions with strangers.
* **You want it free every day.** FLOWN Free is limited to a few sessions a month plus Fridays.

## Where Roomie Cafe fits

[Roomie Cafe](/) is the option with the least ceremony. You press start, pick what you are working on, and see who else is focusing right now and what they are working on. No webcam, no microphone, no facilitator and nothing to book. When the timer ends, you write a line about what you got done, and friends can cheer and comment. Your history shows up as a heat calendar with totals and weekly goals, and there are no streaks to break.

It is free with no session limit, runs on the web and as an [iPhone, iPad and Mac app](/app), and has an optional [Supporter plan](/pricing). It will not give you a trained facilitator or a breathwork class. If those are what keep you going, FLOWN does them well.

## Our verdict

FLOWN is the most complete of the hosted focus platforms: facilitated sessions, a room open all day, wellbeing sessions and a long free trial. The trade offs are bigger groups, a camera that is recommended everywhere, and a menu that takes a while to learn. Use the 30 day trial to find the one or two formats that work for you. If you are in the UK, look into Access to Work before you pay.
