# A proper welcome

2026-09-05, new. New accounts now get a short guided setup — name a focus area, set a weekly goal, follow a few people, and run a one-minute first session.

Signing up used to drop you straight onto an empty Home with nothing to look at and no obvious first move. Now there's a short setup that walks you from account to finished session in about a minute.

You name your first focus area — tap a preset or write your own — pick how much you want to focus each week, and follow a few people so your feed has something in it from day one. Every step is skippable. Nothing you skip is lost: it turns up as a **Getting started** checklist on Home, which ticks itself off as you go and disappears once you're set up.

The last step starts a real session, and one minute is the default. That's long enough to see the whole loop — press the timer, do the work, write a line about where you got — without asking you to commit to a proper work block before you've decided whether you like the place. Finish it and there's a small celebration waiting: your first session, on the board.
