How to choose

Start from the kind of company you respond to, not the feature list. If a specific person expecting you is what gets you to sit down, Focusmate is the strongest option and its free plan is a real test. If a group with a host carries you, Flow Club, FLOWN and Caveday differ mainly in who hosts, how big the room is and what it costs. If you are a student who wants a full room, StudyStream. If chores are the battle, dubbii. If you want company with no camera and nothing to book, that is what we built Roomie Cafe for.

What Roomie Cafe is

  • Roomie Cafe is a free focus timer you share with friends, made by Roomie Technologies OÜ in Estonia.
  • There is no camera, no microphone and nothing to book. You press a timer, see who else is focusing, and share one line about what you got done.
  • It is free with no limit on sessions, on the web and on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
  • Supporter is an optional subscription at €3.33 a month or €33 a year. It adds a gold star and reflection questions, and funds the project.
  • Sessions run from 5 to 90 minutes. There are no streaks, leaderboards or productivity scores.
